May 22nd Weekly Quick Pick Mix

It's playlist time, my friends. One note: I've shorted you a track this week, but with good purpose. I very much would like to share with you the music of Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus. However, the band does not offer their music via the major streaming platforms, as the pay there (as you all should know) is pretty terrible for musicians. Instead, you should swing over to their Bandcamp page and check out (which you can do for no charge) the entirety of their beautiful album , Songs of Yearning (the track I would have shared was "Avatars").

This leads me to an important point that I continually make; the streaming services I use to share this music each week are great for discovering new music. It's tempting, once there, to simply listen to all of your music there. Please, though, know that the musicians you stream on Spotify and Apple Music get paid very little from those services. It's important to support them in other ways. I always check to see of a new band I've found has a Bandcamp page, as Bandcamp has a history of supporting bands in amazing ways, most especially when you purchase their album through them. Additionally, hunt them down via their websites, social media, etc. and buy some stuff. What I'm saying is, if you like a musician, give them money for their art. Directly.

Support them so they can support us with their work.

That's all for this week. Take care of each other out there. Avoid the traps of despair and aggression. Let's face this thing with hope and grace.

everybody's gotta live and everybody's gonna die

everybody's gonna try to have a good, good time

i think you know the reason why

WQPM playlists are a collection of ten songs I've been listening to this week, crossing genre, era, and taste. No themes here, just the tunes I've been sticking in my ears lately. The newest Weekly Quick Pick Mix is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
