Reads of the Week:
Welcome to the new normal. Unless we act.
"working fewer hours for the same pay led to improved well-being among workers, with no loss in productivity. In fact, in some places, workers were more productive after cutting back their hours."
I’m usually the optimist in any room and, frankly, we could all use some good news about the functioning of our Congress, but this piece is a bit too rosy for me. A few things have gotten done, but it’s not enough and it’s only been in response to events that can no longer be ignored, putting us already behind the game when it comes to climate change. Couple that with the GOP’s doubling down on their “win by any crazy immoral means necessary” strategies and I simply don’t buy that everyone is “helping”.

WQPM playlists are a collection of ten songs I've been listening to this week, crossing genre, era, and taste. No themes here, just the tunes I've been sticking in my ears lately. The newest Weekly Quick Pick Mix is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
