A brief update related to yesterday's post regarding Worker Rights in Michigan:
A campaign has been in the works to create a ballot proposal to increase the minimum wage:
If approved, this item would be on the 2024 ballot, so not this year's election.
Approval requires review of the 610,000 signatures by the Bureau of Elections
If passed, it would take effect in 2027 and require Michigan employers to pay both tipped and non-tipped employees at least $15 an hour.
And the stay has been approved.
